The Theory Test

Before the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) will allow you to book a Practical Driving Test, you are required to pass a Theory Test. (Of course, you are allowed to have driving lessons before taking the theory test, provided you have your provisional licence). The test involves two phases: (1) answering 35 multiple choice questions; and (2) taking a hazard perception test.

The multiple-choice section involves answering questions using a touch screen computer and mouse. The hazard perception section records your responses (through the use of a computer mouse button) to developing hazards presented in video clips.

You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test. If you pass one part and fail the other you will fail the whole test, and you will need to take both parts again.
All Delta pupils receive practical support for the theory test in the form of practice test papers and even a little homework!
